 Lateral Cutaneous Femoral Neuropathy (Meralgia Paresthetica)
Description
Unpleasant and aching  numbness along the front and side of the thigh
 
Cause
Impingement, irritation or injury of a skin nerve above the groin
 
Treatment
Nerve blocks, or nerve avulsion in refractory cases
 
Example
Patient with a big belly and a tight belt
Seat-belt injury
Heavy tool belt
May have had back surgery
 
Results
 > 80% pain relief (may be temporary)
 Decreased need for medication
