 Trigger point injections
Description

Injured or fatigued muscles can develop painful nodules (knots), which may cause referred pain.
Serial injections of a combination of short-acting, long-acting "novocaine" and usually corticosteroids, can be very effective in providing pain relief and expediting recovery.

These injections are done in the office and can be repeated several times as needed, with some limitations regarding the total dose of local anesthetics and corticosteroids.
